Our mission is to improve the living conditions of dogs, cats, and birds in India while also raising awareness about coexistence and animal welfare. As a result, we collaborated to create Aवेksha, which serves as a bridge between users and organizations that provide holistic services for the well-being of dogs, cats, and birds.
About Us
Aवेksha is the brainchild of Team Zoophilous, a group of 5 girls of Amity International School, Noida. We've chosen to work on the issue of animal welfare in India by creating a safe space for the voiceless as part of the Technovation Girls Competition 2021. Our venture will fulfill the needs and wishes of both companion animals and stray animals by providing them with unending affection, care, and support. We are committed to improving the lives of dogs, cats, and birds in India by promoting coexistence and raising awareness about it through our educational initiatives.

ADOPTION
RESCUE
Adoption is always the best option when it comes to bringing a furry member into your family. Adopting a dog is equivalent to rescuing it from the wrath and loneliness of the streets, thus giving it a whole new family and abundant love! In this way, we can also help end the cycle of animal homelessness and save lives by opening our hearts and homes to loyal, loving Indie breeds instead of buying animals from breeders or pet shops. Moreover, adopting from a shelter does not cost you anything. Many private and government shelters include add-ons such as vaccines, sterilization, etc. along with adoption. They often conduct special events, like adopt-a-thons.
Saving an animal won't change the world, but for that one animal, the world will change forever.
An animal rescue operation identifies animal cruelty, recovers those animals from miserable conditions, and makes every effort to give them better lives. Hence, we urge you to approach the nearest rescue organization whenever you come across a distressed stray.

Prevention is better than cure.
Keeping your pet’s health in check is the best thing you could do for them, rather than stalling the vet visit till your pet falls ill. Vets advise pet parents about the right kind of food, vaccines, and medications to use. Some people tend to ignore this aspect due to its high cost and assume the health conditions of their pet, but we need to understand that lack of correct care and diagnosis could pose a great danger to your pet's health.
Emotional support animals/ comfort animals are often used as part of a medical treatment plan that includes therapy animals. Visits from therapy dogs help people in recovering from illnesses & even strokes. They are trained to understand commands which lets them help multiple patients simultaneously. Petting dogs & cats can help in rebuilding strength while recovering. Although dogs have traditionally been recruited as therapy animals, nowadays cats are being used too. Therapy animals help people heal by alleviating stress, rendering emotional support, reducing loneliness & anxiety. They are mostly used in hospitals, old age homes, schools, etc.

Spay & Neuter/ Animal Birth Control (ABC) is a simple procedure that is performed on cats and dogs, both male and female, to prevent them from reproducing and causing overpopulation. It is a positive step in an environment where thousands of animals are struggling for survival or waiting out their entire lifetimes in animal shelters.

Pets feel a lot fresher when their fur is trimmed, and their skin is clean. The amount of grooming your pet requires is dictated by their breed, age, and health. Proper grooming of animals can eliminate mats, ticks, fleas, shedding, and other severe health conditions, leading to a positive change in their demeanor. Aवेksha also has city-wise lists of pampering services for pets, ranging from playdate centers to luxury pet resorts!
Through this portal, organizations can furnish necessary details about the events/ workshops/ vaccination drives/ spay and neuter campaigns/ pet playdates/ routine checkups/ seminars they are conducting, and the users will accordingly be notified. Thus, this feature creates a win-win situation by facilitating the easy promotion of events as well as by keeping the users in a loop!
